Royale Dental’s emergency dentistry in Hialeah covers the urgent issues that can’t wait — severe pain, swelling, broken or knocked-out teeth, and lost restorations. Our team triages your situation by phone, gives first-aid guidance for the drive over, and reserves same-day appointments so you’re seen quickly, comfortable, and clear on next steps before you arrive. Bilingual care in English and Spanish, every day we’re open.

When to call us right away

Call (305) 885-7767 if you have any of the following:

  • Throbbing pain that wakes you up at night or won’t respond to over-the-counter medication
  • Visible swelling on the face, jaw, or under the chin
  • A tooth that has been knocked out, cracked, or pushed out of position after trauma
  • A lost crown, bridge, or filling — or a chipped veneer
  • A dental abscess (a pimple-like bump on the gum, often with a bad taste or smell)
  • An oral injury after a fall, car accident, or sports incident
  • Bleeding from the mouth that won’t stop after 15 minutes of pressure

If you’re not sure whether something counts as an emergency, call anyway. Triaging on the phone takes us a minute and saves you a wasted trip — or worse, a delay that turns a small problem into a bigger one.

Common emergencies and what we do

Knocked-out tooth (avulsion)

The single most time-sensitive dental emergency. Within 30–60 minutes there’s a strong chance of re-implanting a permanent tooth. After two hours, the odds drop sharply. The International Association of Dental Traumatology (IADT) outlines clear first-aid steps — we walk through them in detail here. If re-implantation isn’t possible, a dental implant is the long-term replacement.

Severe toothache

Pain that doesn’t fade with over-the-counter pain relievers usually means infection or a nerve issue. We take focused x-rays, identify the cause, and either start a root canal, prescribe an antibiotic if there’s swelling, or extract if the tooth isn’t restorable. Pain relief is the first goal of the visit.

Broken or chipped tooth

Small chips can be smoothed or bonded the same day. Larger fractures may need a crown or, if the fracture extends below the gumline, extraction and replacement. We x-ray to confirm the fracture line before recommending anything.

Lost filling, crown, or bridge

Often not painful, but the exposed tooth structure decays quickly and the bite shifts. We re-cement what’s reusable, replace what’s not, and protect the tooth in the meantime.

Dental abscess

A localized infection at the root or gumline — often visible as a swelling or a pimple-like bump on the gum. Treated with drainage, antibiotics if widespread, and follow-up root canal therapy or extraction depending on the tooth’s prognosis. Don’t ignore an abscess — infections can spread to the jaw and beyond.

What to expect at the visit

  1. Triage call. We assess symptoms, give first-aid guidance, and confirm the appointment time.
  2. Focused exam and x-rays. We pinpoint the cause — no padding the visit with unrelated diagnostics.
  3. Stabilize and treat. Pain control, antibiotic if infected, immediate restoration where possible, or a temporary fix if the permanent solution needs follow-up.
  4. Clear next steps. Any restorative follow-up — crown, root canal, implant — is scheduled before you leave, with a written cost estimate.

After the visit

Most patients leave the office out of pain. We give you written home-care instructions, a prescription for any medication needed, and a direct number in case symptoms change overnight. Permanent fixes — a crown, root canal, or implant — are scheduled separately once the urgent issue is stabilized.

Cost and financing

The emergency exam with focused X-rays is $65 — the same as a routine exam, with a same-day urgent slot. Common follow-on treatment runs roughly $155 for a simple extraction, $225 for a surgical extraction, $120–$200 for a filling, and $900–$1,030 for a crown when one is needed to protect a damaged tooth. Root canals, implant placement, and full restorations are priced separately at the consultation.

We hand you a written estimate before any work begins — no surprise charges. Most insurance plans cover a portion of emergency exams and many treatments; bring your card and we’ll verify benefits in about 60 seconds while you’re settling in. For larger restorative work, payment plans from around $99/mo through CareCredit and Alphaeon spread the cost over 6–24 months.

If pain, swelling, or trauma woke you up — don’t wait it out. Call now.

Common questions

Frequently asked about Emergency Dentistry

  • What counts as a dental emergency?
Severe toothache, facial swelling, a knocked-out tooth, a broken or chipped tooth, a lost crown or filling, sudden bleeding that won't stop, or any oral injury after trauma. If a tooth has been knocked out, time is critical — every minute outside the socket lowers the chance of saving it. Call us before driving over so we can prepare for your arrival.
  • Will I be seen the same day?
Yes. During business hours we hold same-day emergency slots open specifically for urgent walk-ins and triage calls. Call (305) 885-7767 first so we can assess your symptoms by phone, give first-aid guidance for the drive over, and have the right room and instruments ready when you arrive. Most patients leave the visit out of pain.
  • What should I do for a knocked-out tooth before I get there?
Pick the tooth up by the crown, never the root. Rinse it gently with milk or saline if dirty — do not scrub or use water. If you can, re-seat it in the socket and bite gently on gauze. If you can't, store it in cold milk (or a tooth-preservation kit) and get to the office within 30–60 minutes. Read [Knocked-out tooth: the first 30 minutes](/blog/knocked-out-tooth-first-30-minutes) for the full step-by-step.
  • How much does an emergency visit cost?
The urgent exam with focused X-rays is $65. Treatment cost depends on what's needed — temporary cement on a lost crown is inexpensive; a simple extraction starts around $155, a surgical extraction is $225, and a root canal or new restoration is priced separately. We give you a written estimate before any work begins, and we offer payment plans through CareCredit and Alphaeon so the bill can be spread over months. Insurance often covers a portion.
  • Should I go to the ER instead?
For uncontrolled bleeding, swelling that affects breathing or swallowing, or trauma involving the jaw or skull, go to the ER first. They can stabilize life-threatening issues. For everything else — pain, broken teeth, knocked-out teeth, infections, lost restorations — a dentist can treat the actual problem far better than an ER, which can only prescribe pain relief and antibiotics. Call us first if you're unsure.
